This is one of the more available die pairings of the year, but like any early Capped Bust eagle are rarely found in grades above Choice. This one offers considerable luster, frosty devices, and considerable visual appeal. The strike is sharp on the devices, and the surfaces are quite clean with just a few trivial signs of handling. This is the only obverse die to employ the Large Stars punch, with the date showing fairly close punching, save for the last 9 which is further away than the other digits. On the reverse the lowest berry is under the right foot of the final A, and the leaf point touches the I at the lower right of that serif. A condition rarity at this lofty grade level, and a coin that will always garner considerable attention whenever it appears.
