An impressive near mint example of this tough issue. Only 12,447 pieces were struck using the Small Letters reverse style and revised Liberty head punch with a less curved truncation line and modified curls above Liberty’s ear. This is one of the finer examples known today, with just two seen in Mint State for this rare issue. Heavy die file marks are noted at the base of the obverse die, seen on all examples struck. This one shows some nice copper toning over the lustrous fields and minimal handling marks from brief circulation.
