Coin Number 71

A fantastic coin from the famous Harry W. Bass, Jr., Collection. Satiny luster and boldly struck with desirable yellow gold to green tinges of original luster. The surfaces are a delight to study, and the fields are clean for the modest grade assigned. This one has the clear centering circle at the top of second vertical shield stripe on the reverse from the left, which apparently was a hubbing mark to create New Orleans dies in this era. A similar feature has been seen on other coins, particularly on eagles as well as some earlier large cents. Further study is recommended.
