Coin Number 78

This is one of the three finest graded by NGC of this date and mint, and the beauty of this coin is clear to anyone who views it. The strike is sharp and the surfaces show just a few scattered ticks. Much of the original luster is intact. Only 9,000 pieces were struck this year, and of that number perhaps 65-75 exist today. The finest graded by PCGS is AU-55, so this pretty much confirms that no mint state coins are known of this issue. Always seen with the reverse showing die rust left of the T(EN) and above, and a heavy lump above the right side of N of UNITED.
