Coin Number 79

This is the finest 1856 Liberty Head or Coronet eagle graded by PCGS and it is alone as the sole MS-64 they have seen. The fields show strong greenish-yellow gold luster, incredible satin surfaces and mark free devices and fields. The stirke is sharp. With a mintage of over 60,000 pieces this is not a particularly rare coin, as estimates of 325 pieces extant today are published by CoinFacts. However, this is the very best one! NGC has graded three others at this grade level, with none finer and these are at best tied with the magnificent jewel reported here. A classic condition rarity at the top of the charts.
