This outstanding example of this elusive Carson City is from the Battle Born Collection that was sold in 2012. Only 3,244 were struck and today we know of about 75 pieces that survive. This one is right near the top, with far nicer than usual surfaces and eye appeal. The color is classic orange gold. Perhaps one or two are technically finer, but it would be hard to best the general visual appeal of this coin. A tough issue that is rarely seen this well preserved.
