Tied with a select handful of super gems with bold strikes. This one shows even more elegance with the variegated russet and gold toning, with a few patches of green and blue intermixed. The toning continues on the reverse. Fully struck with all the design elements bold. When President Roosevelt passed away suddenly in early 1945 it was quickly decided that he should be on the dime denomination as he had been so involved in the founding of the March of Dimes (1938) to combat Polio which he battled most of his life.
