Francesco II (Austrian Emperor Francis I, same as above), King of Lombardy-Venetia 1814-1835
Fr-741c, PCGS-graded MS-62+
Obverse depicts laureate bust of ruler right. On the reverse crowned double headed eagle. A choice coin having lovely gold toning.
Franz II, Holy Roman Emperor, ruled in that position, 1792-1806. He dissolved the Holy Roman Empire at that time, and formed the Austrian Empire. This occurred soon after Napoleon’s victory at the Battle of Austerlitz. Within the new Austrian Empire remained Lombardy-Venetia, which Franz ruled until his death in 1830.
