William IV, Hanover King 1830-1837

Plain edge. A beautiful example, struck only in Proof state.William IV was Victoria’s uncle, a seaman by profession, who inherited the English throne as an older man. His coins were all made in relatively limited numbers, for just a few years. This was the largest gold coin of his reign, minted only in this year in small quantities.

Exceptionally fine; one of the highest graded pieces.
